Diego Dewar practices principally in the business and finance areas, with particular emphasis on international corporate and project finance. During many years he has advised sponsors, project developers, lenders and foreign governments in a wide array of cross border transactions, including large infrastructure projects. He works regularly in the areas of gas, oil and energy (including wind power generation). Diego also has extensive knowledge of the loan, guarantee, and insurance programs offered by the multilateral agencies, including export credit agencies in the United States and Spain. He also participated actively in international tax planning, focusing on finding the most efficient solution, tailoring it to the needs of each particular client. This expertise has allowed him to work developing innovative fiscal structures.
In addition, Diego successfully handled many large cross‐border mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures in Spain.
Before being an associated of ACOPAT, Diego worked in: Madrid at Sánchez Pintado & Núñez Abogados, in Argentina at Brons & Salas, in the United States as a Foreign Associate at Schuyler, Roche & Zwirner PC in Chicago, in Pillsbury Wintrop Shaw Pittman, LLP in Washington, DC and as a Legal Consultant at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA – Member of the World Bank Group).
