Initially, he worked in the most important firm of Industrial Property in northern Spain as Head of Patents. After several years, in 1977 he founded ACOPAT holding the position of Managing Director.
During his more than 40 years of professional experience he has acquired extensive knowledge in the treatment of various matters relating to intellectual property, although his technical speciality are Mechanical and Electrical Patents and Industrial Designs, reason for which he directs the engineers in the drafting and procedural strategy in both the Spanish Patent Office (SPTO) and the European Office (EPO) and the International Office (OMPI-WIPO).
He has been consultant to prestigious Spanish companies establishing integral protection strategies for Industrial Property Rights and advising technical and R & D departments on the development of their inventions as well as the general directions for obtaining greater efficiency in the protection of their intangible assets.
He takes responsibility for negotiation and preparation of contracts, licenses and the transfer of Patents, Trademarks, Know-How and Domains and advises in legal proceedings affected by domestic and foreign legislation.
He habitually gives courses and conferences on Industrial Property in different innovation forums and Business institutes in which, his opinion, as an expert on Patents, and his views on legislative changes concerning Intellectual and Industrial Property are requested. He also acts as Legal Expert in all matters relating to Patents and Industrial designs, promoting the effective protection of these assets.
